''An eccentric starting point to discover new design possibilities.''

The main concept of the design philosophy was an urban pop culture, where various elements fuse together in a way that symbolizes the coexistence of people from all walks of life in the same space. We kept this idea from the very first Cocoon in 2016 to today.

The minimal design of the space blurs the boundaries between the architectural and design elements, in order to create a different experience in the project. The interior creates a feeling of being immersed in water, reflecting in the colour palette of the space. The design of the furniture and metal construction feature characteristics of a swimming pool.

I believe designing a hospitality space can be a different way of approaching the world; how we design it and how we can influence it with our imagination. It wasn’t our aim to solve functionality or practical dilemmas, we already did that with the design of Cocoon I & II.  Instead it was an eccentric starting point to discover new design possibilities.
